Rick brings decades of wealth management and business experience all of which helps him to provide wholistic advice to clients. His real-world experience in capital markets, wealth planning, estate planning strategies, private banking, real estate development, business ownership, financial services, leadership/management, private equity and various entrepreneurial endeavors all serve as unique attributes typically not found in today’s advisors. 

  • Business Journal Publishing Co.: Rick was an advertising consultant working as a liaison between the ad agency account executive/media buyers and the marketing/ advertising directors of numerous large fortune 500 companies for several controlled circulation business and lifestyle magazines. BJP was a privately owned company of the Jacob Brothers.  Real Estate developers and one-time majority owner of the Cleveland Indians.
  • Rock Financial: The predecessor firm of Rocket Mortgage, where he excelled as a Senior Mortgage Banker in their first out-of-state mortgage branch in Beachwood, Oh. A company started by two brothers and their friend out of Detroit Michigan.
  • Fidelity National Title: District Manager for SW Florida in Naples, Florida.  Fidelity was the fourth largest title insurance underwriter at the time with their own title plant in SW Florida.
  • Naples Area Board of Realtors: MLS Technology Consultant
  • Apple Title Company:  Consultant with managerial responsibilities in Naples Florida.
  • Bradshaw Ltd.: Consultant for a fine men’s apparel retailer in South Africa.
  • Merrill Lynch:  Sr. Partner of the CIM Group and Wealth Management Advisor with various training and managerial leadership roles.  Rick established a successful fee-based financial planning practice and team catering to affluent retirees.  In addition, his team was successful in using Merrill’s balance sheet to provide franchise loans to some of the largest franchisors in the US. Rick was a Mortgage Champion while at Merrill placing him as a top 10% originator at the firm.
  • UBS Financial Services & Wealth Management: In 2007, Rick transitioned his Wealth Management team from Merrill Lynch to UBS in Bonita Springs, Florida. At that time UBS was the largest private bank and wealth management firm in the world.  While at UBS he was instrumental in building an office that had been recently acquired from Key Private Bank and served as the Resident Manager and Senior Partner of the Childress & Ingraham Wealth Management Group catering to high-net-worth households.  During the financial crises UBS borrowed $50 billion from the Swiss National Bank to remain solvent as they were not offered any TARP money by the US Treasury.
  • Ameriprise Financial: A well-capitalized spin off from American Express, Rick transitioned his practice to Ameriprise in 2013 where he served as the Branch Manager and Principle. Rick was successful in transitioning 100% of his prior UBS assets under management within 12 months to Ameriprise Financial. Ameriprise was able to approve numerous outside business activities through the financial services regulator (FINRA).
  • King Commercial and Residential Real Estate Services.  Rick was the 90% private equity owner of the entity prior to it being sold in 2022 due to the unexpected passing from a brain aneurism of the Broker and 10% owner.  Rick has owned numerous rental properties and has purchased and renovated numerous properties.
  • King Construction, Renovation and Building: Rick was a 90% private equity owner of the entity prior to it being sold in 2022. The business started to handle numerous residential properties that were purchased from banks in foreclosure during the mortgage financial crises. Later, the entity was involved in many high-profile construction and renovation projects.  Sacks Fifth Avenue, Naples, FL, remodel. Numerous hotel property re-models, numerous Jersey Mike Franchise build outs, and property service agreements with several fortune 1000 tenants.      

Academic & and other Educational Achievements:

  • Ohio Wesleyan University:  A double major in History & Political Science graduating in three-years in 1989 while being President of his fraternity, kicker for the Battling Bishops Division III football team and midfielder for the winningest collegiate soccer program of the 80’s and 90’s all divisions based on winning percentage. A member of the national Phi Alpha Theta history honor society, Rick completed a semester internship at the Ripon Society, a political think tank established in 1962.   • Case Western Reserve Whetherhead School of Management: Attended MBA night school in 1992 while working full time at BJP in downtown Cleveland.   • The School of Advanced Financial Management: 1998 Certified Financial Manager (CRM) designation while working for the Merrill Lynch Private Client Group. (at the time Merrill was the largest wealth management firm in the United States and a leader in capital markets underwriting).
  • Wealth Management Advisor Designation:  A 2002 advanced designation offered to top performers of Merrill Lynch. While at Merrill Lynch, Rick was recognized and a winner of their prestigious “Winners Circle” for the years of 2000 – 2004. He was also a top performer in mortgage originations and was awarded with the firms Mortgage Champion award for being a top mortgage originator.
  • Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania: A 2003 graduate of the Certified Investment Management Analyst Program (CIMA). A designation sponsored by the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), the predecessor to the Investments & Wealth Institute (IWI). Leisure & Hobbies:

  • Rick is the Father of five (ages 27, 24, and triplets 22). He is an avid reader (Wall Street Journal, history, politics or anything non-fiction. He enjoys mountain biking, skiing, traveling, Cleveland Browns, watching, playing and coaching soccer, gardening, listening to music, and playing the electric guitar. He and his wife Raimonda are active members at Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Naples. He continuously strives to grow in his Christian faith and supports the community.
The Five Star Wealth Manager award was issued by Five Star Professional (FSP). Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers.
